Tatty Teddy Quilt *complete*...

Yess... the quilt is finished, though I'm not pleased as its very comfy and me and the other three cats are going to miss its warmth...

Just wait a minute, I'm nearly finished...


Talk about impatient, this is "my" quilt, not for you to send down to Aunty Fi...

Oh yes 'she' just had to kick me off the quilt to make sure that 'she' got her photo taken too!!

Well Fi, Tatty Ted is finally finished, terrible lighting so the photo's aren't too great I'm afraid. Fingers and toes are crossed that you like/love it :)

Tatty Teddy Quilt... almost done...

It's nearly done, dear Sis... finished quilting 'tatty teddy' today, and have placed on the binding (since this photo), now at the handstitching down the binding stage and darning in loose threads...

The cats are loving the quilt too... in fact had both Jazz and Bella having a 'discussion' over who should be allowed to sleep on the quilt while I cooked tea...

Next photo, it looks like they have both conceded to sulk and share the quilt...

This one below is almost like Bella is saying... "mum get her off this is my spot". Jazz so doesn't look like she cares! Just love the different personalities of our fur babies...

Even sitting on the couch after dinner handstitching the binding I had Jazz and Quarry (Chris' cat) wanting to have pride of place on the quilt - aargh must be the leopard print, or perhaps the teddy's that attracts them so!

Tatty Teddy Quilt update...

Poor Jnr Witch is starting to freeze down in Oamaru and wicked Middle Witch is still quilting her quilt !!

I cleared the huge mess that had been living on my dining table and sorted out what varigated thread I was going to use for the stippling - then turned my back for just a second and look who nestled themself into the quilt like they had been there for many hours !!

I won the battle of the quilt, and managed to 3/4 stipple it on Friday night - sorry Fi - haven't got back to the sewing machine all weekend... Promise to make better progress this week LOL

Stitching Weekend...

I hope you have had a lovely weekend and managed to get some serious stitching, quilting done :)

I spent Friday night and all of yesterday and night with a small group of lovely ladies stitching up a storm - and yay have completed the main section of baby sister's (aka Junior Witch) quilt top - Tatty Teddies. Sis wanted a quilt that wasn't too busy in pattern design, and she chose the bulk of the fabrics - eek I don't know if it is plain enough - so hard for me to do - love bold quilts... The borders are plain fabric to tone down the quilt with a funky border fabric (the chequered purple squares) - I've decided I will large stipple in variegated thread to pull it all together - tho won't stipple over the stitcheries - will shadow quilt the boxes...

I'm currently got the fabric hunt emails going to source enough of the fabric's needed for the two borders and binding... (my fingers are crossed).

I even made a start on the SkrappySak bag pattern that Beth sent to me as part of her gift to me for SSCS08 - using the delicious fabrics that also came with my goodies from Beth - pics to follow for this...

Like all stitching weekends have come home tired, a huge bag of quilting stuff to unpack that didn't even get a chance to touch, a very full tummy - we had such delicious baking provided by our hostess to tempt us everytime we had a cuppa :) Lots of happy laughters and catching up - ah bliss - now its back to reality .... and work tomorrow....

"Tatty Teddy" Quilt for Junior Witch update...

I don't think I've posted any photo's of the stitcheries I am doing for Junior Witch's quilt - there are 3 more stitcheries to go... Jnr Witch wants to keep the quilt simple and not busy - she has given me strict instructions, so one must be obeyed if you don't want a spell placed upon your sewing machine LOL...

The stitcheries are looking so cute... and are fun and quick to stitch...
