Queen's for a day...
My project manager (in the squirrel fur wrap!) thought it a great idea that we come dressed as "Queen's" to celebrate the upcoming Queen's Birthday Weekend - here are some of the project team in their glory! Once I saw the photo, I suddenly realised just how short I am!!

Knitting Needles out of hibernation
Its been a very long time since I have knitted anything larger than a pair of fingerless gloves.
On the needles is the beginning of a cardigan for my girls to share, as I cant see two being completed this winter.

Girls Weekend...
If you read my blog, you know quilting/sewing has kind of taken a back seat to my cycling of late ;) Well not this weekend. Me and the Thursday girls are heading to Stanford Retreat (old Cherry Pie) in Levin for a weekend of stitching. Some of the girls were so keen they headed up there yesterday afternoon to get in a full day of sewing today :)
My bike is being left at home, I'm picking up one of the girls in Whitby this morning, then we are heading away with the obligatory stops for quilt shops (Waikanae x1 and Levin x 2); outlet shops (Otaki); and hopefully some thrift shopping too on our way.
Projects for me are to make Block 9 of my Butterfly Garden Quilt (Leanne Beasley) the final block for my gorgeous aqua and brown version so its ready to start the hand stitching; make more blocks for my selvege spider web quilt. And I have a very cute fabric panel that I want to turn into a small quilt for a long over due baby gift for a girlfriend (baby nearly 1yrs!).
Have a lovely weekend and will update with photo's on my return.
