Lest We Forget...

Beautiful morning that I awoke too... DH attended his first dawn service this morning in Upper Hutt.

First of the Army helicopters flying past our house, heading to Wellington for the ANZAC services.

To our fallen soliders; our returned service men and women; our service men and women who are currently on duty and to the families that patiently wait for the return of their loved ones... may the angels continue to watch over you.

The big pour...

Awesome job done today, with the help of DadT, Leigh, Pete, Mike, Bradley, Kait, Bexx, MumS, Stephen... HUGE thanks to them all...
Concrete needs another wash off tomorrow to clean the macrocarpa sleepers, and to wash away the last of the silt from exposing the aggregate - its looking so GOOD...
Am so looking forward to getting the clothes line re-hung and being able to hang the washing without shingle and clay clogging my shoes... Setting up the huge outdoor table onto the pad outside the lounge windows ...
While the boys were tinkering with the concrete and exposing the aggregate etc - MumS, me and Leigh took off to our favourite -recycle clothing shop - ooh we came away with some great bargins - have washing up two lovely jumpers tonight - and have the jeans and a few other bits and bobs to wash in the morning... just love bargin/thrift shopping :)
Hope you've been having a lovely weekend too :)

More Symposium Exhibition Quilts - Part 1

Here are some more pic's from the Symposium Exhibitions... believe me I didn't take photo's of ALL the quilts on display - so it is well worth a visit to Shed 6 and the Fine Arts Academy, both located on the harbour front in Wellington City...
