Stitchers Angel Swap received...

A knock at the door and a friendly courier was waiting to hand over a lovely yellow box to me... all the way from Italy.

Lovely Laura from Fantasie Country had put together a wonderful Stitchers Angel Swap package for me let's have a look inside the yellow box...

I was so spoilt... a lovely felt mouse, two lavender filled hearts, sewing needle case, calico bag with a lovely handpainted sleeping puppy, two handmade/painted xmas tree decorations, some yummy chocolates, a lovely carry bag AND the most gorgeous angel wall hanging. So very blessed.

Thank you so much again Laura for your wonderful gifts that you have made and sent to me.

And thank you again Helen for organising such a wonderful swap.

where would we be without our daughters...

My darling Kait has been my angel in disguise the last few days... she has really stepped up to the plate and has been an absolute gem, helping with house chores, cooking meals, making cuppas and looking after me...

Darling Becks has been a reluctant helper though have managed to get her to do a few chores without too much complaint.

this is day one - very numb from local anestetic and swollen.

this is day three.

Onto day four right hand index, middle finger still slightly numb and tingly. Prob shouldn't be on computer - though SO BORED and sick of watching telly... very slow at typing which is hard as so used to being able to type 90+ words min !! there in lies where the problem started...

will sign off here and go surfing bloglines to catchup on everyones news.

thank you for your well wishes - oh so lovely to hear from you.

stitches come out Fri 31 Oct - yeah.

Last night of pins and needles...

Well this is the last night of pins and needles and sore hands, as tomorrow morning am off for my operation on both hands for Carpal Tunnel.

Am so looking forward to it - however dreading it completely at the same time... no texting, blogging, stitching, sewing, holding cups of hot coffee, and other bits and bobs for a few days until I get the hands moving again. Though I know the end goal is going to be fabulous :)

So will be off air for a few days ...

Had a lovely weekend of stitching at CherryPie - lots achieved - though funnily enough the pile of UFOs/WIPs didn't seem to decrease in size - how does that work! Did take a few pics - though haven't downloaded them from the camera yet - will do so later and post them.

Have a lovely long Labour weekend my fellow kiwi bloggers/family and friends.

Look forward to catching up with you all again in a few days :)

Yippee its nearly Friday...

PSST.... Am packing my bags tonight and getting ready to leave!!

Heading tomorrow after work to our stitching weekend retreat at CherryPie Quilt Patch in Levin... check out Cheryl's website both for visiting her shop and making bookings for your own retreat at Stanford Retreat.

Now I stopped into see Yvonne this afternoon and saw the DEVINE cupcake themed fabric - oh my its delicious, am sad that our stitching weekend has clashed with the Cupcake weekend as it looks like its going to be lots of fun, though am also so looking forward to having a whole weekend of sewing, gossip and laughter with 'my stitching girls'. Plus will be the last weekend for a while of full on sewing as the operation is looming (one week to go....)

So if you happen to be driving to the Wairarapa to check out Masterquilters Exhibition in Masterton or venturing north of Upper Hutt - do stop by Sawmillers Quiltery and check out the gorgeous fabrics. Also there was a BEAUTIFUL new hydrangea range that had just arrived - ooh the temptation is too much some days...

Anyway had better go and finish packing all the sewing projects - and perhaps chuck in a few clothes and the toothbrush LOL.

Will post pics and catchup on the goss on Sunday night.

Stitchers Angel Swap ready to fly...

Have been busy getting my bits and pieces ready to send to my Angel Swap partner... it needs just a couple of more little things to give it a kiwi flavour and then it will be winging its way across the globe to..... and land hopefully in ..... to be received by S...... M..... who has a really lovely blog .....

Here's a sneak peak of some of the goodies...

I always find it a little nerve racking making the gifts as I'm never too sure if the recipient will like the colour choice, etc...

Thanks again to Helen for organising such a great Stitchers Angel Swap.

Now to focus on my partners gift for the ChookyBlues Christmas Swap...

Hello... I'm Back :)

Hi Friends
I've been enjoying a fab visit from my baby sister, Junior Witch (from Oamaru), even though my operation was postponed until 23rd October - Fi still came to visit - it has been so lovely to see her and catchup on all the news. You know how I joked in a previous post that I'd give it a go to convert her to quilting.... well she hasn't picked up a needle - though she has chosen a design and even went to one of the local quilt shops by herself and chose fabrics!!! I'll post a pic in next post. I was a tardy with taking photo's this visit, so here is a pic of the three witches last visit :)

Junior Witch, Big Witch & Middle Witch (Me)...

I've been browsing through bloglines this morning catching up with everyone's posts, and I must say its like catching up with old friends again. Some of your ladies have been so busy over the school holiday break with your crafts.
One blog entry particularly caught my eye this morning was from Kathryn at Our Shabby Cottage - click here to go through to her tutorial to make a gorgeous Shabby Chic Wreath - just gorgeous... to tempt you here is a pic...

Well I had better get a wriggle on, as have lots of little projects to try and complete today so can send away to my Angel Swap partner...
