School Holiday's are so tiring...

My darling girls... here it is 4pm this afternoon and they have crashed (too many late nights watching C4 channel and being on the computer) - the youngest was going off to bed for a rest and big sister went to talk with her and before you knew it - "mr sandman" had caught both of them...

The quilt on the youngest's bed is the 2nd quilt that I made - she loves purple and we both love butterflies so was a very fun quilt to make.

On the plus side (of the girls have a recharge sleep) it has been really quiet so there has been no excuses, so have sat down and completed all the bits of my Module 5 that I can do myself - the last 4 exercises I need to rope someone into being interviewed and assessed by me :) I really need to get cracking on this Module as I've had it since December and it is meant to take 100 hours to complete - not 4 months - nearly there now though...

Then I thought - ohh just in case Junior Witch is checking on my Blog - here is another couple of tease photo's of the bits and pieces making with fabric from her wedding dress...

Have wrapped Junior Witch's hubby's birthday present and need to find a big box so I can send everything down, and youngest daughter is giving aunty her spare Tinkerbell blanket (as they both love Tink); ooh and then I need to wrap Junior Witch's birthday presents to put in the box too... Tonight will work some more on the projects to get them complete.

Have tomorrow off work as well, to spend time with the girls - has been lovely having 5 sleep-ins in a row - bliss - the early evening has cooled off somewhat after having a very muggy day - wasn't safe enough to hang out the washing - so the lounge is looking like a laundromat with clothes hanging everywhere drying - just as well I didn't hang it outside as early this afternoon it has rained rather heavily - the weeds in the garden are thriving in these conditions :)

Well off to cook something for dinner - hmm something quick and easy I think - and the sewing machine is calling to me....

What a lovely surprise...

I was so excited, tonight when updating my blog, I noticed I had a lovely comment from A Spoonful of Sugar a lovely blog that I came across one night, take a moment to visit Lisa and check out the fabulous fabrics she uses in her projects - gorgeous.

Why was I so excited... well first off I thought it was just a few family and friends that checked on my blog to see what I have been crafting or what we've been up to - so I guess there are others who like me love to visit other blogs for inspiration, enjoy reading about their crafting, looking at their photo's etc - such a great spirited community out there in blogsphere...

Today was an ultimate day of Autumn - a chilly awakening, with a day that was filled with blue sky and warmth in the sun - and the trees - I just love driving to work and noticing how the leaves are changing and the colour combinations. Note to self - take camera and stop the car tomorrow to take photo's :)

We are nearly at the end of the first week of school holidays and thankfully the house is still standing and the girls are still good friends ... tomorrow Beck's is spending the day and night with a girlfriend for the friends birthday - and Kait is going to come to work with me in the afternoon as I've lured her with the rustling of cash, to help with a work function.

Can't have a post without a photo or two... these are from a recent day/evening we spent at a friends bach in Ngawhi (which is on the way to Castlepoint, Wairarapa Coastline) - was a gorgeous day, amazing sunset...

Nite and love to all.

Ooh its getting chilly...

Am sitting here catching up on emails, and sorting out photo's on the PC... and there is a definite chill in the air, think I'll get a mug of tea soon, to keep the body warm while I type :)

... have spent the weekend getting over a head cold and migrane - not a good combination.

Saw my gorgeous nephew at Wellington Airport on Saturday in between his transfer flight from Timaru to Rotorua. My immediate thought was "god he's got tall" a good couple of heads taller than me, and here I thought our Kaitlyn was tall - and Marcus was towering over her too.

Don't you just love the wording in the background of the 2nd photo.."Family's everything"... I couldn't resist :)

Hot chocolates were the top of the list, then a scout around the airport checking out the CD shop and before you knew it, it was time to give the boy a big hug and kiss, and send him on his way to Rotorua...

Worked a little on some cushions that I'm making Junior Witch out of her Wedding Outfit - it was a horrible feeling cutting into the outfit, though I hope the crafty outcomes will be okay... here is a little sneak peak of "in progress"...

...Junior Witch's only request was that I keep "it" neutral in colour - once the projects are finished and have been received I will then post the photo's of the completed projects :)

First day of the school holiday's today - crickey it feels like the kids are always on holiday lately... two weeks of sleep-ins ahead of them (and lots of little jobs I'll leave for them to complete each day - tee hee).

Saw "Horton hears a Who" movie over the weekend - so Dr Seuss - a great interpretation of the book - much better than 'Cat in the Hat'. Was great humour for young and old and one that will be worthwhile watching again on a lazy Sunday afternoon (on the couch under a quilt of course).

Still hand stitching the binding on my 'girlie' quilt, this is a pic prior to quilting... just love the colours and so completely different from my other quilts I've done, not sure where this one will reside as yet... have even had offers to buy it off me - how can you put a price on a quilt, when they've been made with love and enjoyment... I don't think I can let this one go as they are fabrics I brought from a voucher husband gave me a few Christmas's ago...

Just phoned husband as he is still at work (10.49pm)!! Great overtime - though he will be knackered tomorrow - one of the big units in the crushing plant broke down late this morning and they have been fixing it ever since so the plant can get back into production... he's so loving being back on the tools and doing the maintenance work again - such a happier man :)

Time to sign off and do some blog browsing...

Love and Hugs

A Lovely Lazy Wet Weekend...

I just love weekends like this.... where it is drizzly rain, still a warm temperature, and nothing urgent to do, just relax on the couch with a book, get some quilting done ...

...and I started stripping a lovely old plan table, that I got for FREE - is lovely rimu wood underneath the ugly brown varnish - so am stripping it back, give it a light sand then will oil. The plan is to test it in the lounge as a new coffee table - if it looks okay - then will convince Chris to cut the legs down :) Next search is for some old antique handles. Sorry second photo not so good - took it tonight...

It has been my lucky few days for great bargains, on Friday at Briscoes in the sale trolley picked up a lovely duvet cover for our bed for $20.00, when I removed the sale sticker this duvet was originally priced at $159.95 !!

Not this weekend, though last weekend and a few others past - Chris has been building the corner for the block wall, heading back up to the carport - so that it is ready for the concrete pour is looking very impressive...

Daylight saving has finished... so dark so early... tonight went to the supermarket at 5.30pm came out at 6.15pm and it was pitch dark - hurmph.

Off now to get some more washing hung out in the lounge and in the hot air cupboard (the downside of winter coming - house looks like a laundrette).

Love to all.
